You reach me directly — there is no one else here.

The fastest way to reach me is the calendar: twenty minutes, free, with the Enrolled Agent who will prepare and sign your return. Email and phone reach me directly too. There is no contact form, no intake team and no callback queue — one person answers, and it is the same person who does the work.

A live calendar, not a request to be called back. You pick a time and get a calendar invitation with a short list of what to have to hand. This is the right channel for anything about your own return.

Good for sending a document, following up on work already under way, or asking something short. Please do not send tax documents or identifying numbers by ordinary email — the secure portal is set up once an engagement starts.

A US number. Time zones being what they are, a booked call is more reliable than catching me live — but the line is real and it is mine.

Rather write than book?

The calendar is still the faster route for anything about your own return — twenty minutes usually settles what an exchange of messages would take a week to circle. But if you would rather put it in writing first, this reaches me directly.

I read every message myself. There is no intake team, no ticket number and no autoresponder pretending to be me.

Or write to me instead

It reaches me directly. Please keep documents and identifying numbers out of it — those travel through the secure portal once an engagement starts.

Your details are used to answer this message and nothing else. They are not added to a marketing list and not sold.

Before you write

Please don't email tax documents.

Ordinary email is not a safe place for identifying numbers, income statements or account balances. Once an engagement starts you get a secure document portal, and everything travels through that instead. Until then, a short question or a booked call is the right way in.

Check the credential first

You can verify my Enrolled Agent credential yourself in the IRS Return Preparer directory, before you contact me at all.

Questions about getting in touch

Why is there no contact form?

Because a form makes you write a message and then wait. The calendar gives you a time with the person who will prepare and sign the return, usually within a few days. Every other channel on this page reaches me directly.

Can you answer a tax question by email?

A short factual one, yes. Anything that turns on your own facts — which election is better, whether a filing route is open to you — needs the documents and an engagement, because an answer given without them is a guess. The 20-minute call is free and is usually enough to tell you which it is.

Who will I be speaking to?

Me. There is no intake team and no salesperson. Jorge I. Rivas, an IRS Enrolled Agent — 17 years in practice, 12 of them as an Enrolled Agent, and the credential is publicly verifiable in the IRS Return Preparer directory.

How quickly will you reply?

Booked calls happen at the time you choose. For email I aim to reply within one business day, allowing for the time difference. [TBD — confirm the response-time commitment before this is published as a promise.]

Can I send my documents now?

Not by email. Once an engagement starts you get a secure document portal, and everything — identifying numbers, income statements, account balances — travels through that instead.

Twenty minutes, with the person who will sign the return.

Bring last year's return if you have one, your host countries and your travel dates. You'll leave the call knowing the filing route, the forms and the fee.
